What you'll do...

Walmart Marketplace is an ever-growing platform connecting millions of customers with sellers around the world. Our Voice of Seller team plays a crucial role in understanding the needs, challenges, and aspirations of our sellers, driving strategic decisions to enhance their experience and maximize their success on our platform.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Data Scientist to support Seller Listening for next level Voice of Seller and Seller Advocacy tools. This role requires a self-sufficient and highly motivated individual who can own data science projects from inception to completion, driving seller sentiments and uncovering new opportunities via diagnostic tech solutions. Ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of data science methodologies and be adept at working independently, as well as partnering with stakeholders. It is also vital that the candidate is interested in working with seller feedback data and operational metrics in an e-commerce setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply NLP techniques to analyze textural data and extract meaningful patterns and trends.

Create and manage listening tools and deploy programs to uncover high-value opportunities

Design and execute ad hoc listening projects using AI/ML/NLP that address key business challenges and opportunities, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Develop predictive models and algorithms to derive insights from large text based datasets, including structured survey data and unstructured text from open feedback, focusing on seller experience, performance, operational metrics, and more.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand domain-specific data and refine Seller feedback analysis to align with business objectives.

Present findings and recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders to drive strategic decisions and improvements.

Continuously evaluate and improve existing models and data processes, ensuring they adapt to evolving business needs.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Product, Marketing, and Business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.

3+ years of full-time experience in a data science role.

Experience creating and managing customer, seller, or associate listening products

Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, data mining techniques, and NLP.

Proficient in Python, R, or related data science tools and libraries (e.g. NLTK, spaCy, TensorFlow)

Proficient in SQL; bonus points for experience with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization software.

Proven ability to manage ambiguity and work independently in a dynamic environment.

Experience in e-commerce is strongly preferred but not required.

Bellevue, Washington US-11075:The annual salary range for this position is $96,000.00-$186,000.00

Sunnyvale, California US-04397:The annual salary range for this position is $104,000.00-$202,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
