Position Summary...

As with all payers accurate coding, training, and understanding of upcoming changes directly impacts payments and ROI. We are looking for a coding expert to who can join our team who can advise and train associates in coding.
What you'll do...
Assigns codes to medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes.
Ensures codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government regulations and insurance company requirements.
Builds and delivers content related to VBC and coding requirements
Communicates with Vision Centers regarding insufficient or unclear documentation.
Provides ongoing training on ICD and CPT coding to staff as needed.
Assists supervisors and leadership in orienting, training, and mentoring staff.
Serves as resource and subject-matter expert to other coding staff.
Receives and reviews patient charts and documents for medical coding accuracy.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in medical coding or successful completion of an accredited medical coding certification program.
2 years' experience in outpatient coding or health information management.
Certified as Professional Coder (CPC or CSS-P).

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00-$45.00*
*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
