In this senior manager role, you'll elevate customer perceptions about Walmart with on-the-pulse fashion storytelling across our channels.

Here, y ou'll apply the same dedication to pitchi ng and selling the work as protecting and enhancing it. You'll regularly come up with breakthrough creative ideas while framing the narratives and consumer/cultural data that sell them . You'll help identify , foste r, a nd allocate creative talent within the team to meet a variety of current and future creative needs as the Style Copy Creative Director's right hand - and advertising eye - in the fashion (and , where needed, beauty ) space .

You 're adept at all things campaign and current : You can write short social- driven, style -driven trend videos, love all things fashion , AND get the big idea over the line . You will report to the Style Creative Director , Copy .

Essential F unction s

  • Own end-to-end concept development , including brainstorm sessions and building strategic frameworks that ladder to the brief.

  • Proactive, trusted leader alongside design and marketing partners: anticipate needs instead of responding to them; prevent problems more than solves them .

  • Support the c reative d irector's vision with conceptual refinement and insight- and data-driven direction .

  • Translates strategy into meaningful multichannel creative.

  • Serve as a thought leader to elevate all work.

  • Create and deliver impactful presentations by partnering with designers and confidently speaks to creative choices when presenting.

  • Act as a thought partner to external agencies to ensure the work aligns with our brand guidelines and marketing goals.

  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for copywriters within your vertical/campaign s by editing, sharing constructive feedback, assigning work, and providing support and recognition.

  • C ollaborat e with creative leadership , business owners, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate business objectives into actionable marketing messages .

  • Adher e to and contribute to the evolution of the Walmart brand tone of voice and Walmart copy style guide.

  • Work autonomously and self-manage , as well as collaborate closely -always on deadline.

  • Positive, collaborative work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleeves to do what it takes to get the job done, i.e., a high EQ.

Ro l e - S pecific F unctions

  • Oversee , write , and edit scripts for a variety of video assets.

  • Sync with current cultural + trend research across fashion - and where needed, beauty.

  • Lead the s tructuring, copywriting, and development of larger, overarching pitch decks ( ranging from tactical to tailor-made for collaborators, leadership, etc. )

  • C ollaborate with design and produ ction on c asting (strategy, budget, etc.) for videos , plus s hoot attendance and i nvolved oversight on key elements of shoot preparation - if needed.

  • Refine and define how copy shows up (via supers, et al.) in the video space .

  • Lead the assigned senior copywriter s in this work -if needed .

  • Collaborate with the full spectrum of partners (i.e., film directors, talent, creative directors/designers, marketers) and internal stakeholders + leadership , pulsing in every edit/pivot -where and when needed .

Requirements

  • B A in j ournalism , c reative w riting, a dvertising, or related field and 7 + years of copywriting experience - OR 10 + years of copywriting experience .

  • 10+ years of experience developing copy concepts/campaigns.

  • 7 + years of creative agency and/or editorial experience with digital and video focus.

  • 7 + years of experience copywriting in a retail environment.

  • 5+ years of experience managing copywriters. Note: This role does not currently have direct reports, but people management is an added value for this role.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
