Walmart Senior Manager, Technology Operations - Marketplace Lifecycle Policy in Hoboken, New Jersey

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We're looking for an experienced leader to own policy development and technology execution for key portions of the Marketplace seller lifecycle. This individual will have direct ownership of the creation, implementation through technology, and ongoing management of policies that govern the Walmart's Global Marketplace & will cultivate strong cross-functional partnerships with a diverse range of internal teams, including Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering, to effectively bring our strategic plans to life.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Policy Development - Identify and assess potential financial, operational & reputational risks to the platform and its users to develop, implement & manage policies that govern marketplace operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Analytical Approach - Influence the development of data-driven insights to evaluate the impact & effectiveness of existing policies to identify areas of opportunity. Conduct & present thorough analysis to support policy development, evolution, and decision-making.

  • Cross-functional collaboration - Bring together different departments or functional areas across the organization to drive collaboration & alignment on how to achieve common goals most effectively. Participate in & influence further develop of processes to support these outcomes and improve decision-making, problem solving & innovation between teams.

  • Strategic problem solving - Bring a systematic approach to solving complex business problems where no single 'right' answer exists. Consistently show an ability to clearly define, analyze and propose multiple solutions that solve for an underlying objective while clearly articulating the expected impacts & tradeoffs of each path.

  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

  • Influencing and Building Stakeholder Consensus - Requires knowledge of: Verbal/Non-verbal behaviors; Application and allocation of Business Communication styles/techniques in ambiguous and challenging situations ; Communication channels/mediums; Interpersonal skills and universal relationship building with ability to connect seemingly unconnected parties; Influencing styles. To communicate articulately and concisely in stakeholder meetings involving multiple teams. Convey complex information and address ambiguity for robust technology development.

  • Build productive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Influence team and stakeholders to take meaningful action with sound recommendations. Independently prepare clear, concise, logically structured and meaningful reports/material based on facts. Seek and provide constructive feedback, anticipate needs/questions, respond appropriately.

  • Technology Landscape Awareness: Requires knowledge of: Understanding of technology strategy and its linkages to domain; Basic understanding of existing and upcoming systems, technologies and trends; Product technical information; Basic understanding of domain specific market standards; Basic understanding of methodologies and tools, processes, checkpoints. T

  • o get involved and provide support to technology/ domain stakeholders to solve complex issues (i.e. suggest what skills are needed, how does the technology impacts). Develop business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Demonstrate deep functional knowledge of the business unit/domain.

  • Translate business unit/domain requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall technology strategy. Serve as an interpreter and conduit to connect business unit/domain needs with tangible solutions and results. Participate in creating new processes and ways of working.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business,information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 5 years' experience inproject management, program management, program operations, or related area.

  • Option 2: 7 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.2 years' supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in policy management, compliance, or a related role within the e-commerce or technology industry

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 5 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policies and regulations clearly and concisely.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Sound business judgement and the ability to influence others.

  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CFE)

  • Several years of experience in Marketplace risk policy, compliance, or fraud prevention fields.

  • Ability to simultaneously execute tactically and strategically in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective at managing difficult tradeoffs to meet deadlines across conflicting priorities.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
